"Usually lovers met by coincident."  The lady and gentleman in this story also meet by coincident, their story starts from an old chair in an office......

Hikaruko (Norika Fujiwara) is a famous star in the show biz.  She just won her "best actress" in a competition like Oscar and she met a handsome actor in that show.

Sosuke Nakata (Tsuyoshi Kusanagi) is an ordinary salary man who works at a ham selling company.  Sosuke was in a forest playing archery.  He went back to his home town and tried to invite his girlfriend to visit him in Tokyo.

As mentioned, Sosuke works at a ham selling company.  The officer in "Hero" acted as the manager of the company.  The doctor in "Food fight" acted as a senior of Sosuke who loves money, and who always tries to please his boss.  There are another senior man and a girl in this company.  The girl likes Sosuke.

For Hikaruko, the man acted as the estate agent in "Narita" is Hikaruko's manager.  There are two girls who should be the assistants of Hikaruko.

At the beginning of episode one, the director of the drama tried to show us how these two persons contra, how difference their lives is.  So the first shot is of Hikaruko, the second is Sosuke, to show the difference.  Quite interesting.

Hikaruko dated with the actor in an expensive restaurant.  The actor gave a diamond bracelet to Hikaruko.  On the other hand, Sosuke dated with his girlfriend in a local noodle shop.  He gave her an inexpensive bracelet.  The girl said," are you going to propose with this bracelet?  No, you cannot."

Hikaruko lives at the penthouse of a building in the high level residential area, while Sosuke lives at a small apartment, even his television was broken, which made his girlfriend a little bit unhappy.

Once Hikaruko was sick, all the other people asked her to take a rest and no need to work.  However, she is quite professional that she went to work.  Poor Sosuke?  He got a fever and phoned back office, and would like to take a sick leave.  However, the manager yelled at him and asked him to go back to the office at once.  He nearly fainted in the store room.

The bathroom at Hikaruko's flat is a deluxe, however, Sosuke only put himself in a "tub like" bath.

Ok, how and when these two "un-related" persons meet?

One day Hikaruko went to Sosuke's company for shooting.  Other people in the office noted that and would like to meet the "star", so they asked Sosuke to stay in the office to pick up the phones.  Sosuke was late to work that morning, so he did not know that Hikaruko will come.  Besides, he bought a gift for his girlfriend and put that in the pocket of his jacket.

All the others went out of the office, Sosuke was talking on the phone while Hikaruko walked in.  Sosuke did not notice her entrance as he was not facing her.  Sosuke thought that Hikaruko was the customer, so he told her to take a cup of tea, and sit down first and wait for him.  Hikaruko found an interesting piggy key holder and asked Sosuke if she could take one.  "By all means."

After Sosuke hanged up the phone, he, with great surprise, found that Hikaruko was sleeping on the table. In order to keep her warm, Sosuke took off his jacket and put onto Hikaruko.  The phones rang again.  In order not to wake Hikaruko up, Sosuke tried to answer the phones by running towards them.  However, just like playing tricks on Sosuke, all the phones rang at the same time.  As a result, Sosuke plugged out all the lines of the phones.  Still, the mobile of Hikaruko rang, she woke up.  Sosuke could only stared at her with no response at all (or say he did not know what to do at that moment, he was shocked).  Hikaruko asked, "why there is no phone ringing in your office?"  Then she left the office.

Sosuke could not believe his eyes and he was still in great shock when the others came back.  They asked him why all the phones were "un-plugged".  All of a sudden, Sosuke woke up from his dream and realized that his jacket was taken away by Hikaruko.  And even more important, his gift to his girlfriend is in the pocket of his jacket!  Sosuke ran out at once and would like to ask back his jacket.  However, Hikaruko did not recognize him and only thought that he is one of her fans.

Sosuke went to the office of Hikaruko's manager.  However, the others thought that he was just one of those crazy fans and no one take care of him.  When he was driving he heard that Hikaruko was at Tokyo FM for a live broadcasting show.  Therefore he ran there in order to take his jacket.  However, he failed to do so.

While Hikaruko was at home, her assistant took the jacket and the piggy key holder dropped out.  Hikaruko remembered Sosuke when looking at the key holder.  She asked her manager to invite Sosuke to her Birthday party so that she can return the jacket to him.

Hikaruko called her boy friend (the actor) in the night.  The actor told her that he caught the cold and could not go to her apartment that night.  However,. Hikaruko heard the sound of a mobile, which belonged to another actress who works under the same management company of Hikaruko.  Hikaruko was very unhappy......

The next morning, Sosuke got an invitation card from the courier.  The manager of Sosuke's company is a fan of Hikaruko and he told others that that day was Hikaruko's Birthday.  He even bought a telephone stripe with a Hikaruko doll on it.  Sosuke sure did not tell others that he got the invitation card of Hikaruko's Birthday party.

After work, Sosuke went to the Birthday party, hopefully to get back his jacket.  On the way, he got the phone call from his girlfriend.  She told him that he was not her "cup of tea" and she would like to break up with him, and she has already met another person.  Sosuke was shocked with this new and his mood turned bad.

Before the party started, Hikaruko was unhappy too.  She locked herself up in a room.  Her managers were worried about her.  However, after a few minutes, Hikaruko went out and said that she was all right, as she was a "Star".  She got many expensive gifts with various brand named.  The actor went to her party with that actress, which made Hikaruko very upset.

Sosuke arrived at the party, however, no one known him.  He saw Leo-san eating ham.  So he came up to him and told Leo-san many about different kinds of ham and which part of the ham tasted the best.

The manager found Leo-san, who is a famous film director.  However, he stopped shooting films three years ago.  He went to Hikaruko and told others why he stopped his work.  He said that he found other than shooting films, there are lots of thing, knowledge that he did not know, just like few minutes ago, he learned something about ham.  The others looked at Sosuke, who was taking two glasses of champaign to the actor and actress, who accidentally treated Sosuke as a waiter.  However, as the two of them were playing around, the actress hit Sosuke and the champaign poured onto Sosuke's jacket.  Hikaruko noted what's happened.

Sosuke went out to the garden to clean his jacket, Hikaruko went to him and apologized.  Sosuke did not buy anything for Hikaruko, so he gave her the gift he proposed to give to his ex-girlfriend.  Sosuke asked Hikaruko to go back to her party and no need to take care of him.  However, Hikaruko did not want to face that actor and actress and she would like listen to Sosuke for ham.

Sosuke did not believe that at all.  He asked Hikaruko why she invited him to the party, he was just an ordinary man, he thought he was dreaming.....  At that moment, Hikaruko, in order to "fight back" (the others already noted that the two of them were in the garden talking), told Sosuke that, "you are not dreaming", and she kissed him on his lips.

Sosuke went back home and was eating his cup noodle, while Hikaruko was on TV and announced, "I am in love now.  My new boy friend is Nakata Sosuke San, who works in a ham selling company."  Sosuke was totally in shock.......
 
 

This is the first time Totoro try to write down the story.  However, my Japanese is still weak.  Please forgive me if there is any mis-interpretation.  Besides, I only write down bits of the story, not a detailed one.  Sorry.
